The Interventional Radiology Department is one of the most advanced units in Greece, offering specialized procedures performed exclusively or primarily at Metropolitan Hospital.
The department features:
- Two vascular suites and multiple multimodal imaging systems (MRI, CT, ultrasound, PET, fusion imaging)
- Highly trained team, specialized nurses, and radiographers, 24/7 emergency coverage, and 2,500+ procedures annually
- Two permanent anesthesiologists specialized in interventional radiology
- RFA of thyroid nodules and osteoid osteomas
- Urethral interventions and renal embolizations
- Complex body interventions under advanced imaging guidance
- Image-guided pain management procedures
- Aortic, peripheral vascular, and pediatric interventional radiology procedures
- Full spectrum of vascular, non-vascular, and interventional oncology procedures
