Since March 2024, the Breast Center under the direction of Dr. Vasileios Venizelos, has been the first and only Breast Center in Greece certified by the European Sociaty of Breast Canscer Specialists (EUSOMA).

Dr. Vasileios Venizelos is Director of the Interdisciplinary Breast Center at Metropolitan Hospital and President of the Hellenic Breast Surgery Society. He trained extensively in the UK and Scotland, including senior positions in Manchester and Edinburgh, and holds an MPhil from the University of Manchester focusing on breast cancer. He has performed hundreds of breast surgeries and has extensive experience in post-mastectomy reconstruction
His work has been recognized with multiple Silver and Bronze Healthcare Business Awards for innovation, certified multidisciplinary breast care, and advanced breast cancer services, and he has been honored by the Panhellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “ALMA ZOIS”.
