The Hygeia Hospital Radiation Oncology Center is the most modern and fully equipped in Greece and one of the best in Europe, operating as a Center of Excellence for Stereotactic Radiotherapy and Radiosurgery, according to the International Radiosurgery Association.
Based on wide experience and international acclaim, Hygeia’s Center of Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics department has been selected by Elekta as a Reference Site and one of the five pilot centers in Europe that collaborate with Elekta’s Research & Development to improve and test new treatment planning software.

Director: Konstantinos Dardoufas, Radiation Oncology Center, Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Dardoufas is a Radiation Oncologist and Director of the Radiation Oncology Center at Hygeia Hospital. He graduated from the Athens University Medical School and completed formal training and qualification in Radiology and subsequently in Radiotherapy–Oncology. He received advanced clinical training as an Honorary Registrar and Clinical Assistant at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London and Surrey, UK.
His clinical work focuses on the introduction and application of advanced radiotherapy techniques, including IMRT/VMAT, IGRT, adaptive radiotherapy and stereotactic radiotherapy/radiosurgery.
His research interests include the use of advanced imaging in radiotherapy treatment planning, comparative evaluation of radiotherapy techniques using biological criteria, and treatment protocol development.
He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and contributed chapters to books and conference proceedings in the field of Radiation Oncology. He is an active member and founding member of numerous national and international scientific societies related to radiotherapy, oncology and cancer care.
